Bible Text: Hebrews 4:12
The Bible passage that we have just read helps us to know that the word of God is living and powerful, the word has the ability to impact not only our spirit and mind but also our physical body. God’s word reaches right into our bone marrow and joint- meaning as we take the word into us by studying and meditating on it, it goes into our spirit, then into our mind and as we continue to meditate on it, it goes right into our physical body and impact every fibre of our being.
The word of God works in our spirit the same way the food we eat works in our physical body, The food we eat is broken down and absorbed until it becomes part of us (if we eat healthy food and engage in physical exercise we become healthy and fit, if we eat unhealthy, fatty food and don’t engage in any form of exercise we become unhealthy and poorly) so also the word of God it goes right into our spirit and becomes in us what it says and it nourishes our spiritual being( if we don’t feed on the word of God and engage in spiritual activities i.e. praying, fasting, going to church to fellowship with other brethren our spirit becomes weak)
As children of God, we have to submit ourselves to the word of God and allow it inundate our entire being to the point it oozes out of our entire being, our words, actions, our response, the way we relate to the people around us and our lifestyles.
As we give our self to the word and allow it to dominate us, sickness, failure and everything that is not of God will not have a place in our lives and we will live a victorious life.
James 1:22-25 also likened the word of God to a mirror, when we look into a mirror we see our self (2 Corinthians 3:18) when we look in the mirror of God which is the word of God, we see the glory of God and we are His Glory. The more we look, study and meditate the more we become what we see in the word, a transformation and transfiguration take place in our life as we continue.
The Holy Spirit will enable and empower us to continue with the word in Jesus Name.
