Honour and reward are generally regarded as synonyms. Honour represents an official award for a great achievement. The word of God for you is that, your service unto Him will not go without being honoured in Jesus name.
What does “honour” means?
Honour is a privilege which makes a man command very high respect.
Honour means promotion, remuneration and medals.
Honour attracts accolade, award, reward, prize, decoration, distinction and title.
Honour is a rare privilege. It is not given to everybody.
Honour means to be esteemed, and it brings pleasure.
When you pass your degree, you receive an honour. There are some degrees which are handed out without honours. Your own degrees will be honourable in Jesus name.
It is an honour to be a Christian: When you serve God, He bestows His honour and inheritance upon you. It is a bigger honour to work for God almighty. It is important to do what you are doing to please God and not to please men. When you work to please your maker, you will receive double honour and promotion. You will become a royal priesthood; and everybody who comes in contact with you shall call you honoured.
Psalm 91:14 – 15: Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Honour does not cost money: Honour doesn’t just get given to people. In other words, you don’t pay money to buy honour. When you pay money to buy position, it is no longer an honour from God.
Honour requires service and work: Caleb followed the Lord, he was bold for the things of the Lord, and God counted it unto him as inheritance and double honour. Where others were fretting, he brought good report; and the Lord honoured and rewarded him. In Numbers 13:30 – And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
In Joshua 14:12, now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
Even though it was delayed, Caleb still received his honour and inheritance. The Lord will grant you all your entitlements in Jesus name. Whatever it is that you trust the Lord concerning this season, it will surely come, and the Lord shall bestow great honour upon you in Jesus’ name.
From the text we read, Esther 6:1-14, we saw how God honoured Mordecai. The man, whose obituary had been concluded, the man who was limited to the gates, the man whose means of feeding was just by what was thrown at him, and the man who never received a proper salary. Regardless of these, God saw commitment, God saw sacrifice and God considered his trustworthiness and looked at him and singled him out for honour, and suddenly, a man that was terrorised by Haman few minutes earlier, suddenly, received an honour to be paraded on the King’s best horse, wearing the King’s best attire and ornaments. The God of suddenly, will cause you to have a similar turn-around in life in Jesus name.
Something happened when Modecai’s day of honour was around the corner.
The King could not sleep: Every time God is about to do something for His children, he would make people that matter in the case to have sleepless nights. The scripture says, he has the heart of the king in his hands. In the case of Daniel, the king could not sleep, he could not even eat. He fasted until when he was able to hear from Daniel. I pray that those people who are seating on your marks, grades and cases, would not be able to sleep until they have honoured you in Jesus name.
In 1 Samuel 16:11-12, when Samuel was sent by God to anoint David as the king, He went to Jesse’s house, and he could not find the one that was to be anointed, he said, I will wait here until that son of Jesse returns from wherever he went. I decree and declare that your honour will not be given to someone else in Jesus name. In those days, there was no telephone, no mobile, no twitter, no facebook, but they waited and God brought the man David back to be anointed. Your honour will wait for you in Jesus name.
Book of remembrance was opened: In the case of Mordecai, the book of Chronicles was opened. I pray that everything you have done to assist the work of God here would attract the honour of the most high in Jesus name. There is something about people calling your good deeds to remembrance. It means people have thought very seriously of how your support contributed to their progress or to their organisation. This could have been in the form of your service, time, persistence, support, and gifts. God will call these to remembrance, and you will be highly rewarded in Jesus name.
In Esther 5:14, Zeresh, Haman’s wife became the counsellor cum adviser to him. She concluded funeral party for Mordecai, but the Lord turned the table against them. Suddenly, Mordecai became the one to be honoured. You will become the subject of the King’s honour in Jesus name.
Regardless of how long it takes, your honour will come in Jesus name: The things Modecai did 5 years earlier, was forgotten by everybody except God. Even, Mordecai did not have the faith and boldness to mention it, but God made somebody within the palace to mention it, and the Lord raised somebody to argue his case for honour. The Lord will raise somebody to speak on your behalf in Jesus name. Mordecai’s identity was not revealed during the conversation between the King and Haman, until that time when Haman had proudly unravelled his own desire and taste for the honour that the King was going to give to someone else. The Lord will shield your identity from those that can cause you to fall. You selection for honour will surprise your competitors in Jesus name.
For you to receive your honour, you must have put in the hours of
Be ready for your own honour in Jesus name.
