Phenomenal Promotion And Achievement For the Wise, by Pastor Ejovi Edafioghor
TEXT: Gen 41: 36-47
Phenomenal is an adjective that means remarkable, unbelievable, extraordinary or exceptional. It is a choice word when you want to describe something that is highly unusual or exceedingly great. Phenomenal promotion and achievement is God’s reward for those who are wise. You may ask, who are the wise? The Bible says those who are wise fear the Lord (Proverbs 1:7) and as a result, they live a holy life. They obey the word of the Lord, they abstain from sin.
If you fear the Lord, you will depart from evil. Our God rewards those who fear Him with highly unusual promotion and achievements. A very good example of a man who benefited from this type of promotion because of his fear of God is Joseph (Gen 41:36-47). He refused to have carnal knowledge of his master’s wife because he feared God (Gen 39: 9). Although Joseph was made to suffer for this (imprisoned), he became the Prime Minister of Egypt before long. I pray that you will be wise in Jesus name.
It pays to fear the Lord, it pays to live a holy life. Another story was told of a young man who was a lecturer in one of the Federal Universities in Nigeria. While his colleagues were doing all sorts of things to get richer, this man fears the Lord and wouldn’t do anything that is contrary to his faith. The end of the story is that he became a special adviser to a state governor without asking.
A position that his colleagues were lobbying for. The Bible says God is the Judge and only He can promote (Psalms 75:7). I pray for you today that as you fear the Lord and depart from sin, He will catapult you to greatness in Jesus name.
You must be wise if you want phenomenal promotion and achievement (Deuteronomy 28:1). Our God is no respecter of persons and He maintains His standards. He rewards everyone, both the wise and the fools. The Bible says the wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools (Proverbs 3:35). You may ask, who are the fools? Fools are those who see danger ahead and still walk into it. They are those who still continue in sin even when they know that the wage of sin is death (Romans 6:23). The fools suffer shame and reproach. A classic example is the story of Samson in Judges 16:20-25. He was made to grind at the mill like a slave. Oh, what a humiliation! I pray that the Almighty God will never allow you to see shame in Jesus name.
Phenomenal promotions and achievements are meant for the wise. I choose to be wise. The one who fears the Lord is wise. I pray that you will receive grace to fear the Lord in Jesus name.
