The eyes of the Lord will go with you in that journey

— By Pastor Aderemi ADELUGBA,
Psalm 32:8-9 – I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
Brethren, the message for you today is that the eyes of the Lord will continually go with you in your journey in Jesus name. One of the assurances God gave us is that, He will not let our foot slip, and, that, we would not be hurt, when we go through the valley of the shadow of death. I don’t know the journey you have embarked upon this year, the prayer for you is that, the rest of your journey this year will be covered with the eyes of the Lord in Jesus name.
Just over 17 years ago, I was so adventurous; I explored and moved around different regions in Europe. I sat down at a stage, and I did not really know how I survived my sojourn. I remember having to stay in 3 different countries within a very short period of time, and thought to myself how God has helped me in crossing the borders of those countries. It was the eyes of God that was with me throughout the journey. So my encouragement to you this morning is that, whatever journey you will make this year, the Lord will guide you and make His eyes to go with you. You will not be like a stubborn horse without understanding in Jesus name.
What does the eyes of the Lord do?
The eyes of the Lord will ensure you would not fall into the traps of men: This means, when problem comes, His eyes will divert it away from you. His eyes will be the light with which you will walk, and not dash your foot against the stones.
Psalm 91:11-13 – For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
His eyes will cover your past mistakes: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10: If you allow Him to be the light unto your path, it would not matter what mistakes or generational curse you carry, the Lord will cover it, and, change the curse and bring you to a new level of relationship with Him. He heard the cry of Jabez, and restored his life to the one of fulfilment. The story of Jabez was so pathetic that He cried out one day, and asked that the Lord would please help him. His mother named Him sorrow, but when he encountered God, everyone who had rejected and hated him, looked for him to bless his life. Before Jabez’s encounter with the Lord, he dashed his foot in every journey he took. He never got the right job, and was always ending up with the wrong crowd. But when he turned unto the destiny changer, the story of his life changed forever. The Lord will erase your past mistakes and fault, and the story of your life will change for the better in Jesus name.
The eyes of the Lord stands for appearance: When you begin to struggle over issues, the Lord will make His eyes and light to come upon that issue. He has done this in many ways; He appeared for the Hebrew boys in the book Daniel 3. I pray that the Lord will help and show up for you wherever you need Him in Jesus name. Perhaps, you are saying, I really don’t have any problem, and I am very successful in my academics, I am highly placed in my career and the rest of that, the message to you is that your journey of success will not be terminated in Jesus name.
In 2 King 6: 1-7, Elisha became the eyes of the Lord in the journey to Jordan by the sons of the prophets. We saw that the sons of the prophets were going to embark on a journey, which, without the eyes of the Lord would have turned into a big problem. They started by telling Elisha about the fact that the place they were dwelling was too small. So, they wanted to expand, and they felt the project must begin immediately. Likewise, in our individual life, we have issues that we feel cannot wait until tomorrow, and that our new journey and adventure must begin immediately. But do you take time to pause, and see what God think of that journey? – Regardless of what the sons of the prophet said, and the way they presented it to the boss, He reluctantly followed them. For Him to decide to follow the boys, it was a decision that was made in the heavenly. The Lord will make His eyes and power to come with you in every journey, whether it is choosing a life partner, course of studies, accommodation or accepting an offer of job.
When one of the boys was cutting down the wood, the axe head he borrowed fell into the Jordan. They all thought it was a joke, until he began to cry and lament and wail. It was at this stage that, Elisha thought to himself that, He had to do something to help him. Apparently, Elisha was the eyes of the Lord in that journey. Elisha stood up and asked where fell it? And he showed him, and Elisha cut down the stick and positions it there. Lo and behold, the borrowed axe head swam to attract the stick. The Lord changed the law of magnetism, and it was recovered. I don’t know where you are now, and where you will go from here, the prayer is that, the eyes of the Lord will go with you, and, you will not be put to shame in Jesus name.
Finally, may the Lord open your eyes to see where dangers exist: In 2 King 6:8-23, the Lord divinely revealed the plots of the enemies against the people of Israel. The King of Syria was dumbfounded that every time he made plans, somebody would go and foils it before the plan gets executed. Benhadad was 100% convinced that there was a traitor amidst them, until when one of his servant told him, don’t be fooled, there is a Prophet of God out there whose name is Elisha, He is full of God’s power, He sees the invincible.
In 2 King 6:12 – And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.
The Lord will be your eyes everywhere trouble is planted in Jesus name. When the enemies around you send forth weapons to you, it will not reach you in Jesus name. The King of Syria said, ok, go and find me that man. They told him, he was in Dothan, he sent armoured tank, horses to capture him. When the enemies came to find Elisha, they were all blindfolded, got arrested and marched to the King’s palace in blindness. The Lord will blindfold all those who may want to terminate your journey in Jesus name. The eyes of the Lord will continue to be in your ways in Jesus name.
