Naomi lost all in Moab.Ecclesiastes 3:4 KJV

[4] A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ruth 1:3-5 KJV [3] And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. [4] And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. [5] And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Ruth 1:9-14
She was left with two daughter in law, no husband, no son, no grandchildren.
Naomi asked both her daughter in laws Ruth and Orpah to go back to their father’s house. To their old way of life, religion, idols and to remarry. Orpah went back but Ruth stayed.
Orpah means double minded, Hebrew neck, stiff neck.

Ruth 1:15-18. Ruth was steadfast.
Just like Jesus at the cross of Calvary, one chose life and the other chose death. Are we faced with compelling situations in life, are we pressured to go with the flow. They were both married for 10yrs. So they must be accustomed to a new way of life. So for orpah it was all head knowledge but for Ruth it was a heartfelt religion.

Ruth 1:19-22
Naomi returned a bitter lady, changed her name to Mara, in her time of trial and tribulation, Ruth stayed, it’s not easy to live with one depressed, she had her own issues too, Ruth had lost 10yrs of her life and nothing to really show for it.

Ruth was a virtuous woman, Proverbs 31:10-11 KJV [10] Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. [11] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She was hardworking Ruth 2:5 KJV [5] Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, whose damsel is this?

Ruth 2:7 KJV [7] And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.

Proverbs 31:27 KJV [27] She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

She was caring, she feared God,very humble as well.Ruth 2:9-11 KJV [9] Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn. [10] Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? [11] And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

She loved her mother in law, was very obedient, was different, was known, had a good name, had favour with God and man.
Ruth 2:12 KJV [12] The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

Boaz is a burden bearer, he loves and fears God.
Boaz is needed in ministry, in life in marriage in career
Ruth encountered God in Boaz, Boaz was a kinsman redeemer, Jesus Christ came to redeem man kind to himself, He washed us clean, He clothed us and He’s marrying us.

Ruth 3:10-11,17-18 KJV
[10] And he said, Blessed be thou of the Lord , my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich. [11] And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman. [17] And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law. [18] Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.

Jesus Christ had an assignment and He finished it.

Not only did Boaz redeem her but also raised up seed, the elders that witnessed the transaction also prayed for them.

They got all the blessings needed Ruth 4:11-13 KJV
[11] And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Beth-lehem: [12] And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the Lord shall give thee of this young woman. [13] So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son.

The women gave the baby the name.Ruth 4:17 KJV
[17] And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
Obed is in the lineage of David, in the lineage of Jesus Christ.
