Enough of Wandering Go and Occupy the Territory

By Pastor Aderemi ADELUGBA,

Brethren, today is the last Sunday of the month of February, the Lord has already started to fulfil the things He declared concerning you this month. You will receive the strength and power to move and occupy the territory which He has given you in Jesus name. You will not wander away in Jesus name.
To wander means to move without a definite destination. It also means moving in an indirect route, and in an unusual course. This type of journey could cost one several years, if God is not in it. But if you have Christ you will receive definite direction in Jesus name. Peradventure you have missed it before, He will help you to rediscover your path, and you will not waste time in arriving at the place the Lord has mapped for your destiny in Jesus name. We all struggle about questions relating to our future, and how to achieve what God has spoken concerning your life. But the Lord is asking you to fully surrender to Him, and He will help you in Jesus name.
The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for a very long time. Joshua 5:6 states – For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord—to whom the Lord swore that He would not show them the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, “a land flowing with milk and honey.”.The Lord spoke about the territory and the land, He was bringing them, but this took forever for them to achieve because of unbelief and disobedience. God wants you to stop wandering, He just wants you to believe and occupy.
So to occupy any territory, it would require prayer, planning, leadership and making the move. I don’t know if God has told you to proceed, and occupy a certain position, and you are still wandering and going around in circles. You need to encourage yourself like Joshua did, and begin to make that move, and the Lord will establish you.
In Joshua 1:1-9, The Lord said to Joshua, Moses, my servant is dead, now therefore arise, go over the Jordan. It is now Joshua’s turn to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. The instruction was so clear and straightforward that Joshua could not begin to mis-interprete the word of God. You all know that sometimes, when God message has been given to you, people try to make sense of it, rationalise it and even, translate it the way they like. Don’t translate His words for Him, just do it.
Be courageous – Enrol on that course of studies, Accept the job offer and Begin to write that business plan. It would be impossible to achieve anything if you cannot put yourself forward and begin to explore new things. It will not be by your power nor might, it would have to be by the strength and mercy of God. Begin to possess the land. If you don’t wake up from your slumber you will not receive the power and faith to move out of the wilderness. It took courage for Rehab to boldly hide the men on the roof in her house. God has declared it, it will be performed.
Begin to Act: In Joshua1:4, Joshua was reminded that the land in question has already been given to them, they just needed to go in and possess and enjoy. Then in Joshua 1: 10, following the message from God, the only thing Joshua did was to obey and believe. He said, OK Sir, I will do as you have told me. God says go in my might and possess, and you are still busy asking questions. Start possessing the land, and anywhere the sole of your foot shall step, he will give you. If Joshua had said to himself, these people are so rebellious; they don’t listen to anyone, may be they would still be in the wilderness today. The Lord will establish and increase your faith in Jesus name.
Begin to obey: There is power and victory in obedience. When you obey Him, God’s power is released. John 14:21 –He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me. After Joshua had spoken to them and reminded them of how the Lord had given the land to them, the guys said, yes boss, we will obey you, as we obeyed Moses, we would also obey you (Joshua 1: 16 – 17), and things happened for them.
Do not be afraid to go and occupy, the Lord’s protection will be over you: Sometimes we get so engrossed and say things like, perhaps if I fail in this bid, how will I manage. The men that were sent by Joshua from Shittim to spy on the land did not bring any ammunition or things of war; they just went with God’s might and strength. Because they were so obedient, God provided a safe haven for them, and spared them from being maimed. They were shielded by Rehab, whom God had appointed to hide them. On your way up, there would be occasion when confrontation, attack and disappointment would present themselves; the Lord will give you protection in Jesus name.
After praying, fasting and planning, you may now take off: In Joshua 3:1 – Joshua encouraged his people that now that we have seen what these people are like; it is time to take off. Don’t allow mixed feelings, emotions and even people who would say, it is impossible to achieve a particular plan, amongst you, stop procrastinating. Make a move and the Lord will see you through in Jesus name.
When you follow Him, heavens will open unto you: In John 1:43-51 when Jesus Christ located Philip, he and Nathaniel had no understanding of what was to come, they did not realise they would soon be occupying larger territories until Jesus Christ located them. Oftentimes, we are unsure of what is coming our ways, but that which is coming your way will locate you in your hiding place in Jesus name. Jesus made himself to pass through where Philip was dwelling and, he said follow me; because from now on, you will start to occupy the whole world. Philip called unto Nathaniel, and when Nathaniel was still asking question, Jesus Christ appeared and told him all things. Since that day, the Heavens opened for him. Heaven will open unto you in Jesus name, you will go forth and possess your possession and you will occupy the land in Jesus name.
