Death and Resurrection of Christ, the Foundation for your liberty, by Pastor Victor Olobaniyi
TEXT : JOHN 8:36, 1 Cor 15 :35 – 37, Matt 27: 52 – 53.
Can I start by saying that, NO RESURRECTION = NO LIBERTY. The death and resurrection of Christ is the sure guarantee of our divine liberty.
Jesus on the cross of Calvary said it is finished John 19:30, denoting many things, which can be interpreted that the work of redemption is complete, liberty has finally come, freedom all around has being made available to mankind as long as you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
There is no true liberty without Christ.
It is in Christ that we have the complete liberty both Physically and Spiritually.
If the Son makes you free, ye shall be free indeed, John 8:36, not only that, but the bible makes us to understand that you will become heirs of God and joint- heir with Jesus Christ. Rom 8:17. What a privilege.
Authority to live a complete free life as Jesus did, has being given unto us, Matthew 28: 18 – 20. He has given us not only to be free but also to set free, not only to be blessed, but also to be channels of blessings, not only to live in divine health but also to heal the sick, not only to live ,but also to raise the dead , to mention but a few.
The resurrection is the most natural thing that could happen to the believer, It is the completion of the plan of redemption, and the key to resurrection is found in Rev 1 :5 and 18.
The conclusion of the whole matter is that for you to say you are truly free, you must have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour.
If you have not at anytime had a personal encounter with Jesus, I will enjoin you to read Rom 10:9 – 10.
Being born again is to have access to the liberator which is Jesus Christ and that is the ONLY way to true liberty.
Not only do we have liberty from this world of sin and wickedness, but also from the wrought of God that could lead to hell fire. 2 Peter 3: 9.
John 3:16 – 18, makes it abundantly clear the intension of God for mankind, please do not be ignorant.
I pray may we start or continue to operate in the true liberty as ordained by the Lord in Jesus mighty name. Amen
