“The Living And Steadfast God Is The Keeper of My Life”

The living and steadfast God is the keeper of my life, by Dr. Aderemi Adelugba

Text:- Daniel 6:26

In Psalm 121:1, the Psalmist declared his total dependence and trust on the living and steadfast God. He composed the song and, his fellow brethren sang along to praise God. They reflected on the Lord’s goodness throughout the journey of their live, especially, how they walked over the dry ground in the middle of the sea – Exodus 14:21-22. Also, the way the Lord won all their battles for them. The conclusion was that, the Lord we serve is an unfailing God. I pray the Lord will not be asleep concerning your case in Jesus name.

The scripture says, I will lift up my eyes unto the hill, from whence cometh my help? You must know the God you serve, before you can cry out to Him in the days of trouble. If you don’t have a relationship with God, you are basically wasting your time. Because situations of life may well confront you, and ask where is your God? You will be able to tell them you are serving a living God, who neither sleeps nor slumbers.

When issues of life comes, the presence of the Lord will be with you, like He did for Moses in Exodus 33:11-16, And God answered Moses and He showed him His presence. The Lord said my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest. God is not slack concerning your situation and, He will not fall asleep in Jesus name. All He demands from you is faithfulness, and your life would enjoy His mercies. God is the maker of heaven and earth, and He has all the help in his hands. Your maker knows your future. He created you and, He knows the end of the matter from the beginning. Therefore, nothing shall be difficult for him to do. In Exodus 33:17, the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. For the Lord to answer your prayer, you need to have a relationship with Him. The three Hebrew children knew their God, and they boldly said unto Nebuchadnezzar, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king (Daniel 3:17).

The Lord will not allow any form of evil to overpower you in Jesus name. The Psalmist says, He would not let your feet slips when you walk. The Lord sustained the widow who was carrying loads of debt on her shoulder, He provided for her need, and her debt was miraculously paid off, and on top of that, she remained a blessing (2 King 4:1-7). Whenever you are looking for a helper, God will raise many for you in Jesus name. In Psalm 121: 5-7, the Psalmist says, the Lord is the keeper of our souls and shields us from all evils. The Lord is able to take evil away from you. He will take disgrace away from you and, He will set you free when the enemies gang up against you in Jesus name. Mordecai was marked for evil by Haman. He had already built gallows in preparation for Mordecai’s death (Esther 5:14), but the Lord who is the keeper of souls, and the one who shields us from evil, changed the game. Then the gallows Haman built for Mordecai was used for his own death. So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had made for Modecai, then was the king’s wrath pacified (Esther 7:10). You will win over your adversaries in Jesus name. As many as are planning evil for you, the Lord will arise and win your battles in Jesus name. Do not be afraid, the Lord who won the battle for David, is able to fight and win your battles in Jesus name.

In Daniel 6:1-22, Daniel was described as a man with an excellent spirit of God. He was preferred over presidents and princes. Despite his position, he was faced with an enormous risk of being consumed by lions, but guess what? God did not fall asleep concerning his case. The Lord wanted his life to be an example unto others. In Daniel 6: 1-24, we saw how the Lord made the lions to fall asleep when he was in the den with them. Even King Dairus was amazed of what was to become of Daniel, but the Lord whom we serve, never fails. He is able to keep watch on you, even when you are unaware that the enemies are all over you. The Lord kept watch over Daniel, and, he returned to the surface unscathed. I pray you will not be overwhelmed by trouble in Jesus name.

For God to be alert concerning your situations, you must know the Lord you serve and take note of the following points.

Acknowledge God even when you are at the top: Daniel acknowledged God always, even when he was in a position of authority and responsibilities. It is by the grace of God that you are where you are today. Thousands of people would have been appointed over you, but God loved and showed you favour. Daniel was not part of the royal family, yet he was made the head of King Darius’s government. He headed a council of 120 princes with responsibilities, yet he found time to acknowledge God.

Daniel was full of God’s excellent spirit and power: Anyone who would want God to keep watch upon him or her must possess the power and spirit of God. The power would speak for you in the days of trouble. Even the other princes recognised the power in His life, and they said, we shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God – Daniel 6:5. People around you must be able to testify to God’s power in your life.

Daniel was a prayer warrior: Daniel continued to pray even when the king of the land was asleep. Your success and the height of your promotion can make your enemies gets jealous. Therefore, get on your knees and communicate with the Lord, so that, when you are in bed sleeping and snoring, He would be guarding and watching over you – Daniel 6:10.

Dairus lost sleep: When God is awake concerning your case, the people in charge of your case will not be able to sleep. King Dairus lost sleep over Daniel’s case, simply because, he remembered how much power Daniel possessed. His memory concerning the experience of Nebuchadnezzar and his son taught him how to respond to the carrier of God’s power. He did not want any repercussion. Hence, he kept a vigil wondering what was going on in the lion’s den. I pray that the judge over your case will favour you, and, they will not be able to sleep until they have favoured you in Jesus name.

Prayer Points

O Lord, every power struggling to re-program my life, drive them out in Jesus name.

O Lord, uproot every tares the enemies has sowed into my life while asleep in Jesus name.
